Kiewit Mining Group, Inc., is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. We specialize in mine management, production, maintenance and contract mining ventures, operating four coal mines in Montana, Wyoming and Texas.
Responsibilities
* Short-range mine planning involving dragline design, truck-shovel design, regrade design and estimating.
* Long-range mine planning including pit design, equipment selection and replacement, scheduling, staffing, reclamation, and estimating.
* Integrate plans with short and mid-range mine plans.
* Develop and assist in annual budget including cost and financial analysis.
* Assist in regulatory permitting.
* Team oriented with strong communication skills.
* Understands and promotes process improvement and change initiatives.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* The ability to travel and relocate as required.
Qualifications
Kiewit Mining Group is looking for experienced Mining engineers wanting to make a career working at one our surface mining operations in North America.
* Must possess an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or related engineering degree.
* Need to be proficient in verbal and written communication and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
* Be a self starter possessing a strong work ethic.
* Must possess excellent planning, time management and problem solving skills.
* Must have a working knowledge of computers, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, and experience utilizing 3D mine planning software.
* A working knowledge of mine surveying software, experience utilizing Mincom
Minescape software is considered a plus.
