The IT Global Infrastructure Senior Manager is a global role that manages development of the IT Server/Storage strategy and architecture roadmap for the Enterprise. Develops a support team and the appropriate tools/processes to ensure that enterprise and regional server and storage infrastructure and related devices are maintained, supported, optimized, and reliable. Responsible for ensuring that all layers of the server/storage functions (Design, Engineering and Operations) are effectively delivered on a global basis. Essential Duties include:

* Provide enterprise strategic direction for regional and global IT Server/Storage architecture while working with all concerned to establish appropriate policy, standards and controls to maximize service levels while minimizing costs.

* Responsible for all aspects of Newmont's global Server/Storage infrastructure. Serves as the senior technical IT leader and manages design, engineering and support activities for all aspects of the server and storage infrastructure, also including active directory, exchange, backups, security and related technologies.

* Responsible for providing complete guidance and oversight for all aspects of the global and regional Server/Storage infrastructure and capacity planning.

* Responsible for the adherence of Server/Storage Security policies as they relate to Newmont's global infrastructure.

* Ensures that the server and storage infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for the enterprise and the region, including working with service providers to ensure that the environment is stable and highly available.

* Ensures that server backup/recovery strategy is adhered to and tools process support the strategy to ensure that reliability and data integrity of the backup systems and media.    

* Ensures technical support and coordination to service providers in relation to configuration management for communications and server/storage/backup hardware.

* Ensures that service providers are carrying out all aspects of contractual obligation for proactive and preventative maintenance of the infrastructure environment.

* Leads and collaborates with the global infrastructure team in definition of infrastructure standards and is responsible for regional coordination, implementation and compliance.

* Responsible for ensuring that global and regional infrastructure documentation is accurate and maintained on a timely basis.

* Responsible for supporting the regional infrastructure-related global infrastructure projects, including definition of regional requirements, input and validation to global designs, and oversight of regional technology implementations.

* Collaborates with global teams to define policies and is responsible for regional implementation and compliance for policies related to the server and storage infrastructure and operations.

* Work closely with other Newmont IT teams to understand their environments and standards globally and regionally. Provides backup when necessary.

* Ensures support of all aspects of Newmont-owned IT facilities as applicable to the region, which may include data center, com-rooms, video conferencing, access control, copy/print, HVAC/UPS, cabling, microwave, and related services.

* Responsible for ensuring support of all aspects of regional IT facilities and capacity planning.

* Tracks related IT issues, coordinates resolution and assists in driving issues to closure.

* Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management.

* Provides timely follow-through with customers and IT peers on IT service requests and tasks.

* Manages and participation in various IT projects as needed.

* Ensures that Newmont's methodologies, policies, procedures and standards are adhered to. Maintain a consistent high quality of work across all responsibilities.

* Ensure all requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation are met and the required controls are in place and being maintained.

* Promote and adhere to Newmont Regional Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures. Consistently demonstrate and encourage safe work practices.

* Promote and comply with Newmont goals and values.

* Participates in IT budget planning and review.

Working Conditions

* Office and field work as required.
* Position may require travel to other domestic and international sites.


Qualifications

* University Degree or equivalent experience.
* 10-15 years experience in technical support role with
progressive responsibility.
* 8+ years supervisor/manager leadership in Server/Storage Architecture
and infrastructure operations.
* Strong mix of business, functional, and technical skills.
* Proven ability to discuss server, storage and backup concepts and
strategies in simple, clear terms to help drive and influence decision
making of business and application owners.
* Broad knowledge of all technology considerations (performance,
scalability, maintainability, deployment, operations,
technology infrastructure).
* Self-driven employee, with a pro-active and strategic vision of IT.
* Ability to effectively plan and control projects.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
with vendors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and customers at all levels.
* Has an overall understanding of the objectives and functions
of the company, business units and departments serviced by IT.
* Self-driven manager, with a pro-active and strategic vision
of IT service delivery.
* Posses strong IT knowledge and understanding with deep skills in
IT operations, customer relationship management and outsourcing
vendor relationship management.
* Cost and budget control.
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Visio.
