The IT and SCM Financial Reporting Specialist will effectively manage IT and SCM financial planning, analysis and reporting. Essential Duties include:
* Works with IT and SCM staff to ensure accurate and timely
completion of period-end close cycle, budget and forecasting process.
* Ensures accuracy of accounting information and investigates/explains
any discrepancies.
* Analyzes cost center performance including labor, material and
overhead variances.
* Conducts analysis and reports on the various cost management
initiatives within each group.
* Supports operations in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
* Provides follow-up to requests from internal/external auditors.
* Proactively develops and delivers analysis and reports to support
business decisions and safeguards organizations performance.
* Evaluates emerging trends, opportunities and risks and presents
proactive recommendations to IT and SCM leadership.
* Recommends improvements to current processes, where appropriate.
* Prepares journal entries.
* Provides financial support for capital appropriation requests submissions.
* Participate on ad hoc projects designed to promote process improvement
and development of best practices.
* Promote and adhere to Newmont's methodologies, policies, procedures
and standards.
* Maintain a consistent high quality of work across all responsibilities.
* Ensure all requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation are met and
the required controls are in place and being maintained.
* Promote and adhere to Newmont Regional Occupational Health and Safety
policy and procedures. Consistently demonstrate and encourage safe
work practices.
* Promote and comply with Newmont goals and values.

Qualifications
* B.S. in Finance, Accounting, or related field and five plus
years progressively responsible accounting/financial experience.
* Experience in IT or Supply Chain industry preferred.
* Must exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
ability to clearly relay financial information to a variety of audiences.
* Proven strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
* Demonstrated experience with an ERP system.
* Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
* Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and reprioritize
as necessary to align with current business objectives.
* Strong hands-on "roll-up-your-sleeves" orientation with ability to
understand the bigger picture (i.e. impacts across the business, etc).
* Team player able to interact with all levels of the organization and
work on projects in a cross-functional team environment
as well as interfacing effectively with global counterparts.
* Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to assume responsibility,
take ownership for their work and intelligently challenge the status quo.
* Organized and reliable with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
while maintaining attention to detail and quality of work.
